Couple of weeks ago I met this guy Kam who just happens to be an RnB vocalist and in need of a photographer for his album. Happy to help another LA artist and to make some quick cheese, I took him across the Los Angeles bridge into the train yards. Where we almost got arrested for trespassing. The pig explained "that with elections so close, mass transit is a possible target for terrorist attacks" and us being there makes us suspects. Explaining to Mr. Pig that we weren't there to cause any trouble he let us off with a warning and we went back to work. Oink Oink!

KAMPAIGN. A soulful singer with a smooth, intoxicating style. A native Californian, Kam credits his “Old School” influences to the first five years of his life on the road with his singer Mom. Pop and R&B icons Marvin, Stevie, Smokey, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jazz greats, Al Jarreau, Bobby Mcferrin, and contemporaries, Redman, KRS-ONE, The Roots, and LL Cool J, round out his musical mentors. He is featured on Underground artist Scarub’s “ New Per-spek’ tiv” and Mista RuL.A. ‘The Street Hustle”. Kam is the creator of his homegrown trademark “Vocalmentals”. Vocalmentals is a acapella harmony blend that is a thorough mix of R&B, Hip Hop and Jazz.

KAMPAIGN fronts for live stage shows opening up for majors tours. He even threw his hat into the Stand up ring, and loves to do improv comedy. “I Keep it real by remembering my roots, and my source. I try to be available whenever my friends at the NAACP, or my church call for me to sing. This helps me keep my feet on solid ground”.

You can find Kam in LA every thursday nights emceeing the Open Mic Session at Club Dusk Til Dawn (6819 Pico Blvd) or sample his music on MYSPACE.COM/THEKAMPAIGN
