Born in Waimanalo, Hawaii, into a landscape of extraordinary beauty and a family whose talents span the spectrum of the creative arts, Jay "OddZoo" Doronio began to draw and paint as a child. Upon moving to California, he was introduced to the sights and sounds of graffiti and hip hop. The vibrant power of these mediums has assisted in laying the foundations of his artwork today. As he begins to build his career, OddZoo is pursuing a degree in Illustration and Graphic Design at Otis College of Art and Design.

Carmichael Gallery of Contemporary Art is proud to present DIVERGE, the solo debut of OddZoo. The Hawaii-born and Los Angeles-based artist will showcase works of acrylic, oil, pencil and ink that reflect upon the adjustments we make, opportunities we gain, and things we learn when life unexpectedly shifts itself from its anticipated path. The exhibition will be open for viewing through September 6 - September 28th, 2008.

Of course the Family was there to show support.

Thank you to everyone that came out to show their love on this special night. He's worked really hard to get this point. I'm very proud of this guy, always have and always will. ONELOVE!
